Baradene College of the Sacred Heart Enjoys Visit to SHP

Global Exchange Program welcomed 31 students from New Zealand to campus

This spring, 31 girls and three faculty members from Baradene College of the Sacred Heart in Auckland, New Zealand enjoyed a five-day visit to the Prep during their “Women in Tech” two-and-a-half week immersion trip.
While in Atherton, the group spent time with the SHP Tech Department, Robotics and Creative Inquiry programs, visited with the RSCJ at Oakwood and participated in SHP’s Class of 2020 new freshman welcome night.
As part of the immersion trip, meant to encourage the young women to continue to pursue course studies and career paths in STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics), the students also had the opportunity to tour Silicon Valley tech giants, like Apple, Google, Facebook and Adobe.
During their visit to SHP, homestays with current Sacred Heart families were arranged for all the girls by Jenna Harvey, SHP Exchange Program Coordinator, and Deborah Farrington Padilla, SHP Director of Global Education.
Founded by the Society of the Sacred Heart, SHS is a Catholic, independent, co-ed day school for students in preschool through grade 12
