SHP Sports

With several league and conference championships earned, the SHP athletics “Gator” program fields varsity and JV level teams in 12 different sports, as well as an all-freshman team for football. Working closely with student-athletes, coaches emphasize competing with honor and for school pride, leadership and cooperation, perseverance and self-discipline, and several Gator athletes have gone on to successful careers in college and professional sports.

The Gator sports program supports the belief that the true value of high school athletics is tied to the inherent life lessons taught, and coaches and training staff remain committed to providing a meaningful and memorable experience for all student-athletes. Six of the 21 total SHP teams employ a “no-cut” policy, ensuring all students who would like to participate have the opportunity to do so.

Gator teams compete in the West Bay Athletic League (WBAL), the West Catholic Athletic League (WCAL) and the Peninsula Athletic League (PAL).
