What We Do
Education of exercise science concepts and principles
Emphasis on training functional movement patterns
Developing and maintaining a safe and inclusive training environment
Adherence to proper exercise form and technique
Daily sport specific prehabilitation prescription
Implementing athlete specific rehabilitation protocols – partnering with school athletic training staff, local physical therapists, pediatricians and orthopedic doctors

Maintaining open communication between student-athletes, parents, administrators and athletic training staff
Kevin Blaugrund returns to Sacred Heart Prep after serving as an assistant with the program in 2010-2011. Since then he spent the past five years as a sports performance coach at both Stanford and Santa Clara University where he worked with a variety of varsity teams (football, basketball, soccer, water polo, golf, and cross country). Kevin holds his master’s degree in exercise science and graduated from Arizona State University where he studied kinesiology. Additionally, Kevin is certified through the National Strength & Conditioning Association (CSCS) as well as certified through the National Academy of Sports Medicine as a performance enhancement specialist.
Matt has worked with a wide range of populations, from youth to professional athletes. He comes to Sacred Heart Prep from Menlo College, where he spent the last two years working with Baseball, Women's Basketball, Cross-Country/Track & Field, Men's and Women's Golf, Men's and Women's Soccer, Stunt & Cheer, and Women's Volleyball. During that time, he also worked part-time at Bellarmine College Prep as an assistant water polo coach and team strength and conditioning coach. He earned his Masters in Kinesiology with an emphasis in exercise physiology from San Jose State University.
