Performances & Exhibitions

Throughout the school year, student performances in theatre, music, and dance, and student exhibitions in the visual arts are regularly scheduled at venues throughout campus. A comprehensive fine arts showcase of high school student work is held annually in December. In addition, a number of the music programs may travel to participate in competitions, or to perform in regional concerts; recent travel for performance includes Hawaii, regional locations in California, and the Vatican.

  • Theatre

    The regular theatrical season at the LMS include one full-scale play production (Middle School) and one musical (Lower & Middle Schools).

    SHP regular season includes two mainstage productions (typically one play, one musical), and two actors showcase productions held in the smaller black box theatre.  

    On alternating years, an all-school musical is mounted, open to students in grades K-12.
  • Dance

    Performances include both a holiday and a spring dance concert.
  • Music, Choral & Instrumental

    All SHS music ensembles (instrumental and choral) have holiday and spring concerts on campus, and occasionally may perform at school masses, events, and meetings.

    SHP and GR 8 music ensembles may travel for competitions, workshops, or regional concert performances.

    SHP Pep Band will typically perform at seasonal sports home games and local-venue tournaments (e.g., Valpo Bowl).

    GR 4-8 music ensembles host and participate in the annual Festival Vivace! clinics and performances on campus.

  • Visual Arts

    Student work across all grades is regularly on display throughout buildings on campus.

    LMS student work is exhibited the Murphy Administration Building.

    SHP student artwork is primarily exhibited in the hallway of Sigall Building (near the art studios), the great hallway in Main Building, and in the lobby of Homer Building.SHP ceramics work can also be seen in a variety of external locations on campus.
