    Assurance (audit)
    PricewaterhouseCoopers' Core Assurance group organizes around industries to share the latest research and points of view on emerging industry trends, develop industry-specific performance benchmarks based upon global best practices, and share methodologies and approaches in complex areas such as financial instruments and tax provisioning. In addition, our network is available to collaborate on accounting or technical issues unique to a particular industry, especially when interpretive guidance is needed.   • Hedge Fund Operations Intern

    Seeking a hedge fund operations intern with interest in investing.  Dates to be determined.  College Credit.   

    Cannell Capital is a value-oriented hedge fund with more than 20 years of investing history and a compound annual rate of return of sixteen percent since inception. We apply an equity long/short strategy in order to generate attractive absolute, risk-adjusted returns on the assets under management (approximately $300 million). Our general investment strategy is to apply bottom up fundamental research and seek investment opportunities caused by imperfect distribution of information in the universe of neglected stocks.  The investment universe is primarily small capitalization, publicly traded companies in North America.  
     
    Seeking intelligent, hard-working and detail-oriented young specialists who are keen to pursue a career in finance and who want to acquire practical experience with trading and operations aspects of the fund’s activity. The position provides interns with the opportunity to get accustomed to research flow management and learn industry specifics. 

    Learning opportunities
    • Learn organizational structure of the fund, including financial intermediaries involved, daily operational documentation flow, and basic accounting principles and performance measurement applied.
    • Get to know typical software tools, such as Bloomberg, Eze and Axys, all of which are frequently used by investment companies in order to support operations, research and trading activities.
    • Get familiar with capital markets in general and the universe of alternative investments universe in particular.
    Responsibilities
    • Update information about the fund’s operations using different sources (prime broker reports, Axys reports and other operational documents).
    • Compile fund’s monthly closing accounting summary from financial statements and audit reports.

  • Social Media Marketing Intern

    GameOn, San Francisco, CA

    GameOn is a new sports chat app that is offering an internship on college campuses this fall. The company is looking for young tech savvy sports fans interested in working with a seasoned silicon valley startup team. Prior experience is a plus, but enthusiasm and a willingness to learn are much more important.

  • Sports Management Intern

    This position is located in our office in Colorado Springs, CO and will run approximately from June through August of 2016.

    The Indoor HP Summer Internship at USA Volleyball is available to college students - primarily those pursuing a Sports Management degree, as well as recent graduates. Students must either be receiving college credits for their participation in this internship, or have recently graduated with a four-year degree in Sports Management or related field.

    The duties of this position will center on the planning, logistics and implementation of key 2016 High Performance programs, including High Performance Summer Training Programs, A2 Invitational, and High Performance Championships. The intern will gain a strong understanding of the preparation necessary for a successful, multi-event sport season. The position will report directly to the Director, USAV High Performance Indoor Programs.

    Interns quickly are immersed in a full range of tasks that surround running a successful, fast-paced youth sports program. Interns will gain the experience of preparing, supporting and helping to run high-level events from planning to full implementation. Interns will receive hands-on experience with High Performance Summer Training Programs, planning and implementing A2 Invitational logistics, as well as handling administrative duties for the 2016 High Performance Championships.

    DUTIES
    Complete one major planning project addressing future growth and directions in High Performance and present project results at end of internship.

    Assist with preparation and logistics for Boys’ and Girls’ HP Summer Training Programs.

    Assist with preparation, logistics and implementation for A2 Invitational.

    Assist with preparation, logistics and implementation for High Performance Championships.

    Other duties and special projects as assigned.

    QUALIFICATIONS
    Working toward, or recent graduate with a four-year college degree in Sports Management or related field.

    Excellent work ethic.

    Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office applications with emphasis on Microsoft Excel.

    Strong organizational and communication skills with attention to detail.

    Experience in the sport of volleyball preferred, but not required.

    Must pass a USAV background screening.

    About the Role:
    Mavatar is looking for a talented, passionate UI/UX designer to help shape the products and services across Mavatar’s platforms. Our ideal candidate will exhibit an uncanny sense of creating elegant user-centered designs, demonstrated ability to balance high-level, holistic reasoning with detail-oriented feature design, and facility designing for both the online and mobile channels. An unfailing passion and capacity for advocating on behalf of our customers is also an absolute must, because this role will directly impact the shopping experience of millions of customers.

    Responsibilities & Project Work
    • Create world-class, user-centered designs through consideration of market research, business requirements, customer feedback, and usability study findings
    • Translate business requirements into use cases and high-level customer experience requirements
    • Design the UI/UX architecture, interface, and interaction flow of new web and mobile applications
    • Direct the visual design of the web and mobile applications
    • Develop conceptual diagrams, wireframes, visual mockups, and prototypes
    • Develop and maintain detailed user-interface specifications
    • Present design work to the user experience team, product team, engineering team, executives, and external partners for review and feedback
    • Work with our usability and data mining teams to assess and optimize new and existing features and page frameworks
    Requirements:
    • Fluency in best practices for web-based information architecture and design
    • Strong practical knowledge of user-centered design methodologies, usability principles
    • The ability to provide detailed specifications, mockups and style guides
    • Proficiency in a variety of design tools including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
    • An available portfolio or samples of work demonstrating great user-centered design solutions
    Desired Qualifications & Skills:
    • Coursework or Bachelor's degree in design, human-computer interaction (HCI), or equivalent experience
    • Demonstrated visual design expertise; capacity for creating fun, highly usable designs and layouts, and a propensity towards simplification
    • Nimbleness; the ability to turn around rigorous wireframes and mockups quickly in an iterative environment
    • A general understanding of how design impacts development; a knack for constructing dynamic, interactive designs that are technically feasible and prudent
    • The ability to scope design initiatives accurately and prioritize work items appropriately
    • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
    • Proficiency with web and mobile standards
    • Plus: Experience designing user experiences for web, mobile, desktop or connected devices, the ability to prototype in HTML/CSS, JavaScript, and Flash or Flex
