Gathering as a community, Sacred Heart hosted celebrations in honor of the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe to remember the patroness of the Americas.
On Dec. 12, kindergarteners joined Prep students, faculty and staff in front of the mural of Our Lady in the Michael J. Homer Center for Science and Student Life for a Feast Day prayer service. The following day, led by a mariachi band, preschool through eighth graders processed to the Ravi Family Assembly Hall and were retold the story of the Virgin Mary appearing to Juan Diego in Mexico in the 16th century. Highlighting the gathering, students sang songs in Spanish and laid flowers at the feet of the sculpture of Mary created by LMS art teacher Ciara Bedingfield and students.
