SHP grad Sara Choy ('18) won at No. 5 singles in her dual match debut at Stanford, defeating Caitlyn Frankel of Santa Clara University 6-3, 6-2.
Sacred Heart Prep grad Sara Choy was victorious in her duel match debut, winning at No. 5 singles, 6-3, 6-2, and No. 4 Stanford took care of Santa Clara 6-1 on Thursday at Taube Family Tennis Stadium.
Competing for the first time since defeating Vanderbilt three weeks ago, Stanford (7-1) was in control from start to finish.
The doubles point was clinched at No. 3 by Niluka Madurawe and Janice Shin, a pairing that last saw action in November.
Madurawe, also making her dual match debut, won 6-1, 6-0 at the No. 6 spot.
The clincher came from Emma Higuchi, who defeated Katya Tabachnik 6-3, 6-2 on court four.
The Cardinal travels to Eugene to open its Pac-12 schedule Sunday, against Oregon in its conference opener.
