Lambert earns Athlete of the Week honors

The senior distance runner set a school record (4:59.90) in winning the Open mile at the Arcadia Invitational over the weekend. She also ran with the 3,200 relay team that placed fifth.

Congratulations to Luci Lambert, who has been named Palo Alto Weekly's Athlete of the Week!

Luci ran a school-record 2:13.36 in the elite heat of the 800m at the Arcadia Invitational, and then won the Open mile in a school-record 4:59.90.

During her record-breaking performance in the mile, Luci was sitting at 10th place with 600m to go, and proceeded to run a blazing :68 for her last 400m to move into 1st, and set a new school record in the process! 
Luci was also anchored the Girls relay team, who finished in 4th place of the invite section.
