Pulse Sees Success at Regionals

Grace Griffin ‘27, Staff Writer
On January 20th, SHP’s dance team Pulse competed in their regional dance competition.

This was a competition where many schools’ dance teams, along with a few cheer teams, came from around the area to compete against each other. The event offered Pulse the opportunity to gain experience with high school-level dance competitions and learn more about other dance teams in the area.

SHP competed in a variety of events with many different dance styles. Pulse placed in every category. They had three 2nd place finishes, along with a 3rd place, 4th place, and 7th place finish. They also won the JV small group hip-hop dance. SHP worked hard on their dances and put a lot of care into their work, which showed in the end when they placed in all categories. Lucy Irvine ‘27, a dancer on the team, called it “a good learning experience.” The competition allowed the team to learn about what dance competitions are like and how to get used to the environment. Now, they can grow from this experience and learn from their mistakes. Competition does not always have to be about winning — it can also be about having fun, gaining experience, learning from it, and the work that was put in along the way.

Pulse is a big part of SHP. Every dancer contributes to the SHP community. From dancing at sports games to performing at school events, Pulse is always there to make the time more fun, enjoyable, and interesting. So, it is important to recognize their hard work and effort to bring joy to people's days through their dancing. What they do is truly amazing and they deserve the recognition for it.

Pulse worked very hard at Regionals, competing against many schools, to place in all categories. Next up is Nationals, and it is important to give them support as they prepare. Now they must get better and learn from their experiences at Regionals as they prepare for Nationals.

It is important for the SHP community to show their support for Pulse going to Nationals. Pulse is a major part of the school and they work hard on their dances — it is up to SHP to show them how much they are appreciated and that their hard work is worth it.
