CSH In 1969 my parents gave me a most amazing gift – a Sacred Heart high school education. The Convent (as it was called then as an all-girls day and boarding school) in Atherton wasn’t my first choice because all my friends went elsewhere. But in a very short time I was hooked into what is now the strongest religious, spiritual and intellectual legacy that I can imagine. More than once I’ve said that nothing could have better prepared me for my college and doctoral academic successes. My mom, until her dying day, also commented often on what a fabulous education Sacred Heart gave me. I am honoring Sacred Heart with a bequest from my estate because of the unbreakable connections among my classmates and faculty that remain strong more than 50 years later. My hope is that this bequest will open up the doors of Sacred Heart to other young men and women seeking the gifts of friendship and education.
