Sacred Heart Prep senior Maddy Johnston scored three goals and Stanford commit Aria Fischer added four goals as the United States women's youth national water polo team rallied to tie Greece, 10-10, Tuesday at the FINA youth world championships in New Zealand.

Greece took control early going ahead 3-2 after the first period and 7-4 at intermission. Team USA chipped away in the third quarter bringing the deficit down to a goal at 8-7 after three. In the fourth they outscored Greece 3-2 to force the tie at the end of regulation.

Stanford commit Sarah Klass also scored.

The Americans opened pool play with a 26-10 win over Japan on Monday. Fischer scored five goals to lead the way.

The U.S. ended pool play with a 14-7 victory over China, played Wednesday morning local time, Tuesday afternoon in the U.S.

Greece and Team USA each finished finished 2-0-1 in preliminary play, tied each other and own the same goal differential at plus-23.

Greece outscored opponents by a 52-29 margin, while the Americans outscored their opponents by a 50-27 margin.

Whichever gets the tie-breaker gets Thursday off. The other will play Germany.
