The Gators will face Rancho Bernardo in the California State 3A title game
The Sacred Heart Prep varsity football team will play in its second state championship game in three seasons, riding the success of wining its fourth consecutive Central Coast Section title. The Gators will square off with Rancho Bernardo High School in San Diego on Saturday, Dec. 19 at 6 p.m.
SHP (11-3, 4-1 league) heads to the California State 3A championship following a dominating, 56-20, win over McClymonds High School on Dec. 12, in the Northern California Division III-A regional bowl game.
Rancho Bernardo enters Saturday’s meeting with a 12-2 overall record, advancing to the game after defeating Oak Hills, 31-30, in the state Division III-A championship.
