Prep Students to Participate in Berkeley Model UN Conference

SHP is headed to the world's largest Model UN conference
The 20-member Sacred Heart Prep Model United Nations (UN) team will transform into global diplomats as UN representatives at the 64th annual Berkeley Model United Nations Conference from Mar. 4-6 at UC Berkeley. SHP moderators Religious Studies faculty Kristen Kelly and Director of Global Education Deborah Farrington Padilla will lead the team, comprised of freshmen through seniors.
Preparing since January, the team has been learning UN protocols and the social, political and economic issues confronting the various UN committees in advance of the world’s largest Model UN conference. The SHP contingent will represent Hungary and Argentina on various UN committees, including the World Bank, European Union and Legal Affairs.
The conference will welcome more 1,600 students from across the country and abroad to engage in the global experiential learning opportunity. For more information about the SHP Global Initiatives program, please click here.
