Sacred Heart Prep's top two tennis players, Lyndsey Lynch and Isa Robinson, could be headed on a collision course in the West Bay Athletic League individual singles and doubles tournament.
Both won their first two singles matches on Monday to reach Tuesday's semifinal at Menlo School. Lynch will meet Harker's Lisa Egorova and Robinson plays Castilleja's Becca Row, both at noon.
Either Menlo or Castilleja will have a team in the finals of the doubles tournament. The Knights' Tricia Zhang and Brynn Brady will play Gators' Tobey Solomon and Mabelle Pasmooij, also at noon, in a semifinal. The championship round begins after appropriate rest.
Lynch did not drop a game in sweeping her first two matches. She downed Pinewood's Lynsie Corfield, 6-0, 6-0, early and then took care of a Crystal Springs Uplands player to reach the semis.
Row topped SHP's Ella Sheehan, 6-1, 6-1, in the first round and then beat aNotre Dame San Jose player, 6-1, 6-0, to reach the semis.
Robinson beat a King's Academy player, 6-1, 6-2, in the first round and Harker's Santoshi Tirumala, 6-4, 6-2, to grab a spot across from Row.
In doubles competition, Solomon and Pasmooij went 6-0, 6-2 and 6-0, 6-0, to qualify for the semifinals. Zhang and Brady knocked off Priory's Kelly Walsh and Katie Walsh in the first round and then beat SHP's Natalie Dias and Sarah Quinlan, 7-6 (1), 6-4.
Quinlan and Dias won their first match, 6-1, 6-1. Gators' Skylar Schuman and Lily Lynch fell in the second round.
The Central Coast Section will conduct its girls tennis seeding meeting for team, singles and doubles, on Saturday.
Sacred Heart Prep (12-6) hosts Notre Dame San Jose, the WBAL Skyline Division winner, for the second automatic berth into the CCS on Thursday at 4 p.m.
The Peninsula Athletic League holds its individual tournament at Burlingame and San Mateo beginning Tuesday.
