Sacred Heart Prep Names Chad Tyler as Boys Athletic Director

ATHERTON, CA (July 2, 2025) — Sacred Heart Preparatory is pleased to announce the appointment of Chad Tyler as the school’s new Boys Athletic Director. Chad brings extensive experience in organizational leadership, operational management, and student mentorship, combined with a proven commitment to SHP’s educational mission. He has been a valued member of the Sacred Heart Prep athletic staff since 2023.

"Chad is a dynamic leader whose strengths in organizational management and dedication to student mentorship have significantly impacted our community," said Jason Armstrong, Assistant Principal for Athletics. "Having seen firsthand the meaningful relationships Chad has formed with our students and staff, I am excited for the expanded influence he will have within our athletic department. His leadership will undoubtedly benefit our student-athletes, coaches, and administrative team."

Before joining SHP, Chad served in leadership positions at Bellarmine College Preparatory, where he guided student development programs, managed daily operations, and facilitated community engagement efforts. Currently, he serves as the Executive Director of Firehawks Lacrosse, overseeing strategic planning, staff management, and student-focused program development, demonstrating his consistent ability to cultivate positive organizational culture and efficiency.

Prior to his roles in education and youth programming, Chad was a Senior Manager at Apple, leading global teams in research and development initiatives. In this position, he directed cross-functional teams, managed complex project life cycles, and maintained confidentiality and high standards of operational excellence.

Chad’s leadership foundation was established through more than a decade of distinguished service in the United States Marine Corps, where he served as a Naval Aviator, Senior Education Director, and Military Advisor. His responsibilities included training flight personnel, mentoring junior officers, and managing large-scale educational and operational programs. In deployed environments, Chad led advisory teams tasked with organizational development, interagency collaboration, and performance assessment under challenging conditions.

Chad’s leadership style closely aligns with Sacred Heart Prep’s core mission, emphasizing character development, student growth, and community collaboration.
