We are honored to recognize your thoughtfulness through the Tower Legacy Society, whose members make a promise to the next generation through their estates or other planned giving options. Members are invited to special events and are recognized in the school’s annual report. More importantly, Tower Legacy Society members help advance the mission of Sacred Heart Schools, Atherton for generations to come. Including a bequest as your legacy to Sacred Heart in your estate plan enables you to support our mission and make a difference in the lives of future generations.

Including Sacred Heart Schools, Atherton in your estate plans can be arranged easily, does not affect your current lifestyle, and can be modified easily for life circumstances or changes.

Make a Bequest in your Will or Trust

With the help of an attorney, you can include language in your will or trust specifying a gift to be made to Sacred Heart Schools as part of your estate plan.

A bequest may be made in several ways:

Specific Bequest – A specific bequest involves making a gift of a specific asset, such as real estate, a car, other property, or a gift for a specific dollar amount. For example, you may wish to leave your home or $5,000 to Sacred Heart Schools.

Percentage Bequest – Another kind of bequest involves leaving a specific percentage of your overall estate to our organization. For example, you may wish to leave 5% of your estate to Sacred Heart Schools.

If a bequest is something you are considering, please notify us about your estate plan gift. You can make your bequest unrestricted or direct it to a specific area of interest.

Include Sacred Heart as a Beneficiary of your Retirement Account

Designate Sacred Heart Schools as a full, partial, or contingent beneficiary of your retirement account (IRA, 401(k), 403(b), or pension). Most retirement accounts allow you to update your beneficiaries online. When you pass away, your account will be distributed to whoever you designate on your beneficiary designation.

Other Ways to Consider Sacred Heart in Your Estate Plan

Other means of giving to Sacred Heart Schools include making gifts through a Donor-Advised Fund (DAF), IRA Charitable Rollover, or life insurance. Please contact a qualified financial professional to learn more.

COR UNUM SOCIETY

The Cor Unum Society (formerly the 1898 Society) recognizes individuals, families, and organizations whose overall contributions to SHS culminate in $100,000 or more. Members of the Cor Unum Society make a powerful statement about the value of a Sacred Heart education, and, both individually and collectively, have a significant impact on the school's ability to offer an outstanding education rooted in scholarship and values.
