Alex Harper scored twice and Garrett Gavello also scored but Sacred Heart Prep lost, 32-22, to visiting McClymonds in a nonleague football contest on Saturday.

While the offensive production surpassed the Gators (0-4) first three games combined, it was not enough to overcome the Warriors (3-1), whom
Sacred Heart Prep beat, 56-20, in last year's state playoffs.

The Gators have a bye this week, a welcome break heading into Peninsula Athletic League Bay Division competition at Burlingame on Sept. 30.

Sacred Heart Prep put together 308 yards of total offense, a sign of improvement, with quarterback Thomas Wine throwing for 162 yards on 12 of 26 passing. Michael Mooring was Wine's favorite target, catching five passes for 54 yards.

Brendan Semien recorded 11 tackles for the Gators and Josh Suzuki added eight tackles. He also intercepted a pass, as did Tommy Barnds.

The running duo of Harper and Barnds produced 90 of the Gators' 146 rushing yards. Isiah Broughton added another 30 yards.
