SHP Drama ‘Hit One Out of the Park’

Rave theater review of spring musical Into the Woods
The San Mateo Daily Journal (SMDJ) gave a rave theater review of the Sacred Heart Preparatory (SHP) Drama production of Into the Woods. The spring musical featured a cast of 28, crew of 13, an orchestra comprised of nine student musicians, and was directed by SHP Drama teacher Jeff Adams, with scenic design by SHS Technical Director of Performing Arts Fred Eiras, music direction by SHP Music teacher Stef Dubrowski, vocal direction by SHP Music teacher Clem Cano, guest choreography by Keith Pinto, guest costuming by Lisa Rozman, and guest hair/makeup by Lindsay Saier.

“This show was a collaborative effort with an incredible group of students that made magic happen on stage,” said Adams. “This title is an important one to me, and our cast, crew, and creative team brought it to life in a way that surpassed my hopes and dreams.”

As the SMDJ review praised, “Sacred Heart Prep Drama hit one out of the park with the spring musical ‘Into the Woods,’ that ran April 27-29, an ambitious Stephen Sondheim score director Jeff Adams’ ensemble cast embraced with an array of powerful vocal performances. The tearjerker ‘No One is Alone,’ featuring a gorgeous harmony between leads Angelo Nunez and Maggie Kloninger-Stever, was a highlight. Captivating sets and the subtle power of the 10-piece student orchestra were theater gold."
