The SHP Boys Basketball team went 3-0 over the weekend, claiming the Crusader Classic Tournament Championship.

Aidan Braccia scored 14 points, one of four players to reach double figures, in helping Sacred Heart Prep beat host Riordan 57-47 in the championship game of the Crusader Classic on Saturday night.

Kevin Carney, named tournament MVP, Emmer Nichols and Sam Norris each added 11 points for SHP, which played without starter RJ Stephens and a few others still playing football.

The Gators (3-0) will be close to full strength when they play next, Friday, Dec. 17, at St. Francis.
SHP led by two at halftime and began slowly building a double-digit lead into the fourth quarter. The Gators survived a late rally from Riordan to claim the victory.

Carney averaged 14.3 points on 56% shooting and a team best 2.7 steals over the three-day tournament. He made eight 3-pointers.

Braccia and Nichols were both named to the all-tourney team. Braccia averaged 14.3 points a game while Nichols averaged a double-double with 10.7 points and 10.0 rebounds. He also blocked three shots. Braccia made all 10 of his free throws.

J.P. Kerrigan made four of his seven 3-point attempts (57%) and was 7-of-12 (58%) overall. Norris connected on 12 of 23 shots (52%).
