The Gators advance to the CCS Division IV semifinals, where SHP will face Hillsdale on Friday at 7pm.
After a whole season of close games, Sacred Heart Prep enjoyed a 42-0 victory over Alisal Saturday in the Central Coast Section Division IV quarterfinals.
"It only took us 11 weeks,'' SHP coach Mark Grieb said. "It was nice to have a game like that.''
Jack Herrell threw a pair of touchdown passes to Zach Freire of 73 and 5 yards. Luis Mendoza, Andrew Latu, Ravu Savali and Anthony Noto scored rushing touchdowns.
And the defense pitched a shutout.
"Our defensive front guys did a real nice job,'' Grieb said. "We did a good job of shutting them down.''
Mason Chetcuti, RJ Stephens, Berjo Eldemir, Robert Plashke and Eliseo Buffington on the defensive front and linebackers Latu and Noto came in for praise from the head coach.
SHP (4-7) advances to play at No. 2 seed Hillsdale, Friday at 7 p.m. They've already played once this season, a game Hillsdale won 20-13 on Sept. 24.
