Sacred Heart girls are 10-0 in water polo after beating Arroyo Grande

The SHP Girls Water Polo team improved to 10-0 on the season after defeating Arroyo Grande 10-6 on Saturday morning.
Ella Woodhead scored all three of her goals in the first 11 minutes and Sacred Heart Prep topped visiting Arroyo Grande 10-6 in a nonleague girls water polo game Saturday.
Ashley Penner added two goals and three assists for the Gators (10-0), who hoist St. Ignatius in a West Catholic Athletic League match Wednesday at 5:30 p.m.
Sacred Heart Prep played Arroyo Grande (11-5) for the second time this season, beating the Eagles 7-5 at the St. Francis Invitational. The Gators are also entered the Arroyo Grande Invitational in two weeks.
Woodhead helped SHP open a 4-0 lead midway through the second quarter. The Gators eventually led 7-1 late in the third period.
Natalia Szczerba added two goals and Megan Newby recorded a goal and two assists. Margaret Brandin and Brienz Lang completed the scoring.
Goalie Paedrin Gillett made 17 saves and added an assist. She recorded a save percentage of .739. The Gators were 10 of 22 from the field, including 3-of-4 on power plays. Arroyo Grande was held scoreless in five power plays.
