Two SHP Alumnae Head to the Tokyo Olympics

Tierna Davidson (SHP '16) and Abby Dahlkemper (SHP '11) will play for Team USA in women’s soccer
Sacred Heart Preparatory (SHP) alumnae Tierna Davidson (SHP ’16) and Abby Dahlkemper (SHP ’11) have been named to the United States women’s national soccer team (USWNT) Tokyo Olympics roster. Tokyo will be both players’ first appearance in Olympic competition.

Davidson led her college alma mater Stanford University to the 2017 NCAA Championship, earned 32 appearances with the USWNT, and was the youngest player on the champion USA team at the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup in France.

Dahlkemper helped her college alma mater UCLA win its first-ever NCAA Championship in 2013, and joined Davidson in 2017 on the USWNT roster, and joined her again on the winning USA team of the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup, where she was one of only two players to start every tournament match for the United States.

For the Tokyo Olympics, the United States was drawn in a group with Australia, New Zealand and Sweden to open the competition on July 21.

Davidson and Dahlkemper join two other Sacred Heart Network schools’ alumnae in going to the Olympics. Stone Ridge swimmers Phoebe Bacon and Katie Ledecky are also headed to Tokyo.
