SHS Auction Fundraiser a Success; Photo Gallery is Live

Sacred Heart Schools’ (SHS) community banded together March 24th for the annual school auction, “Rock Your Heart Out.” The music festival-themed event attracted more than 550 attendees representing preschool through grade 12 and the Religious of the Sacred Heart. Auction Photo Gallery is now live.

 

Now nearing its 40th year, the auction is always a highly anticipated event, focused on both raising support for school programs and needs and further strengthening community ties and school pride. With the night’s overall net proceeds contributing significantly toward the school’s yearly operating budget, during each auction an additional direct appeal is made for donations to the school’s financial aid fund.

 

This year, more than $200,000 was raised from that single “Fund-a- Need” appeal. Funneled directly into the SHS financial aid program, this critical support will help meet the more than $6 million in aid requests received in the past year alone, and provide needed assistance for approximately 1 in 5 students.

 

“This festival was made possible thanks to more than 150 parents, students, faculty, and staff volunteers,” said Director of Engagement Lisa Gamitian, who heads up the event each year. “Our three auction chairs—Kristina Homer Armstrong, Stephanie Kruse, and Kelly Kruse—were truly the ‘band leaders’ and the volunteers the ‘band members’ of this production, and they rocked it.”

 

During the event, guests were entertained by student musical performances ranging from vocals, strings, and soloists to band performances, student art exhibitions, and more.  

 

“This was truly an outstanding ‘Goal IV production’ [Goal IV: The building of community as a Christian value]—a jam-packed festival of ‘good music, good friends and good vibes,’” said Director of Schools Rich Dioli. 

 

“As our Sacred Heart Preparatory Advanced Choir so beautifully sang, we have ‘1,170 Reasons’ at Sacred Heart that motivate and inspire us daily, and your generosity in supporting Fund-a-Need and our auction ensures that each one of these ‘reasons’—these students—will have the chance to continue playing a vital and valued role in our community,” said Dioli.
