Sacred Heart Prep's Max Cluss won two events at the West Bay Athletic League track and field meet at The King's Academy on Tuesday.

Kyle Schott, Roger Flores and Daniel Grau also won events for the Gators in a meet that was scheduled without a full complement of teams to preserve the integrity of the WBAL championships in May.

Cluss won the 800 in a solid time of 2:00.96. He came back to win the 3,200 in 10:20.60. Priory's Jack Nash was third in 10:51.01.

Schnott, who ranks fifth in the triple jump among Central Coast Section competitors, went 40-8 1/2 to win the event Tuesday. Pinewood's Miles Redman was a distance second. Grau won the 300 hurdles in 57.35 and Flores won the long jump with a mark of 18-8 1/4.

Priory's Keyshawn Ashford raced 11.29 to win the 100. Teammate Michael Gunn won the 400, outdueling Schott, 54.07-54.61, and the Panthers 4x400 relay won in 4:02.01.

Woodside resident Anna Mokkapati used her home track at The King's Academy to race a personal best 10:55.77 in the 3,200 meters. She's just the third female in the CCS to run under 11 minutes this season and is ranked third.

Priory's Amaya Gray won both the 100 (12:58) and 200 (26.34), bringing her close to being among the top 10 in the section. Her twin sister Anysa Gray, a phenom in soccer, was second in 12.65 but she's already ran a 12.45 this season.

Sacred Heart Prep freshman Luci Lambert, one of the top cross country runners in the section, raced a personal best in two very different events. She went 11:50.55 to place third in the 3,200 and now seems ready to explore the possibilities presented by the 400, in which she has consistently improved all year. She won the event Tuesday in a PR of 1:02.04, .69 seconds better than her first 400 of the season a month ago.

Sacred Heart Prep teammate Keemya Bashiri won both the 800 (2:28.75) and 1,600 meters (5:29.31), Gator Sophie Duncanson, third in the 100 hurdles, won the 300 hurdles in 52.27.

Pinewood's Una Jovanovic captured the triple jump with a best of 31-7.

Priory will be back at The King's Academy for the WCAL 3B meet on April 24. Two days later, Sacred Heart Prep hosts the WBAL 3A meet, which will also include Castilleja, Eastside Prep, Menlo and Pinewood.

Boys Tennis

Samuel Lin, Jack Homer and Conor Burns each won their singles matches and Sacred Heart Prep won its second straight WBAL tennis match Tuesday.

The Gators (5-9, 5-5) host Priory at 3:45 p.m. Thursday while Pinewood (2-6, 1-5) visits Harker at 4 p.m.

Boys Volleyball

Sacred Heart continued its recent winning ways, beating Cristo Rey, 25-10, 25-7, 25-11, as Lance Chou recorded 13 digs and David Macias recorded 12 assists.

The Gators (9-6) have won three straight heading into Wednesday's Santa Clara Valley Athletic League contest against visiting Gunn at 6:45 p.m

Girls Lacrosse

Sacred Heart Prep beat visiting St. Francis, 10-7, Tuesday and moved into a first-place with Menlo in the West Bay Athletic League.

Freshman Genna Gibbons scored four goals to lead the Gators (6-3, 5-1), who travel to Burlingame for a 5:30 p.m. league contest Friday.

Sophomore Sasha Bellack added three goals and recorded an assist while Ingrid Corrigan added a pair of goals.
