Zoe Zaharias scored 15 points, Tatum Angotti added 14 points and the Sacred Heart Prep girls basketball team beat visiting Campolindo, 52-40, in the first round of the NorCal Division II playoffs on Wednesday night.

Denise Stine scored 11 points and Charlotte Levison added 10 for the eighth-seeded Gators (17-10), who will make the 250-mile trek to Redding for a game against top-seeded Enterprise (26-4) at 6 p.m. Saturday.

Sacred Heart Prep has won its last four games and has outscored its opponents by a 214-128 margin during that span.

"I think we played hard," said Gators coach Melanie Murphy, who knows a thing or two about playing hard having played for Tara VanDerveer at Stanford. "We did a good job getting out in transition and running on them, especially early. Denise (Stine) did her thing pushing the ball up the floor and Tatum (Angotti) was fantastic tonight. We did a good job moving the ball and playing together."

In the first quarter, the Gators came right out of the gate and went on a 9-2 run. Levison found a cutting Stine, and the sophomore laid it in for a swift 9-2 lead. Stine added nine rebounds and three assists to her points total.

Later in the quarter, junior forward Zaharias knocked down a 3-pointer at the top of the key, giving Sacred heart a 17-6 advantage. Zaharias scored 10 of her points in the quarter, helping the Gators open a 21-10 edge heading into the second quarter.

Late in the second quarter, Stine drove to the basket for a layup to give Sacred Heart a 31-21 halftime edge. The Gators passing was on point as the team combined for seven assists in the half, though committing 10 turnovers.

"They saw the floor well," said Murphy about the ball movement. "They had court vision, whether it was Denise or our other guards and passing it underneath. We still have to cut back on the turnovers. We've turned the ball over more than we've liked. Otherwise, they've made some phenomenal passes on the passes that they did complete -- you've got to hang your hat on something."

Stine came through again in the third quarter when she connected with Grace Battles and the senior forward banked it off the glass, giving the Gators a 39-28 lead to end the quarter.

Angotti owned the fourth quarter. The junior scored eight of the team's first 10 points and her energy drove the team to victory, pulling ahead by 14 points with three minutes left in the game.

"Our defense was pretty good in the third," said Angotti, who finished with eight rebounds in addition to her double-digit scoring. "They (coaches) told us to carry that defensive energy into our offense and we knew we were a faster team so we were making it our goal to run transition on them and sort of, tire them out. We took that to heart and we definitely did that."

Enterprise won a close game with No. 16 Oakland 67-63 on Wednesday night. The Gators are ready for any team coming their way.

"Obviously we're pumped for this win," said Battles, who finished with four rebounds and three assists. "We just need to stick with our principles and prepare for defense, get our energy from defense and I think we can beat any team we play."
