SHP Students Honored at Congressional District Art Show
Sophomore Danielle D. earned honorable mention recognition
Sixteen Sacred Heart Prep artists were among a select group of local high school students honored by Congresswoman Anna Eshoo on May 9 at the Mountain View City Hall for their work submitted to the Congressional Art Competition. The national competition boasts more than 650,000 participants since its inception in 1982.
Rep. Eshoo highlighted the evening by speaking on the importance of free expression, the value of art and the responsibility each person has as citizens in the community, before honoring all participants with a Congressional Award.
Sophomore Danielle D. earned honorable mention accolades for her paper silhouette image of environmentalist Caroline Cannon, which was voted on by local artists in the 18th Congressional District (San Mateo, Santa Clara and Santa Cruz counties).
