Outside hitter Michael Mooring recorded 11 kills, libero Ryan Bair had 21 digs and Sacred Heart Prep downed visiting Santa Clara, 25-18, 25-15, 25-22, Saturday in a Santa Clara Valley Athletic League El Camino Division match.
Garrett Pinkston added four kills and five blocks for the Gators (6-10, 1-5), who travel to The King's Academy for a 6:15 p.m. match Tuesday. Kevin Molumphy had 12 assists and four blocks.
In the Sacred Heart Cathedral tournament Saturday, Eastside College Prep fell to Leland, 25-19, 25-14. The Gators (1-8) play at Fremont for a 6:30 p.m match Wednesday.
St. Francis completed a 5-0 run through the Granite Bay tournament to capture the title and remain undefeated on the season at 1-0.
Middle blocker Cameron Allen was named tournament MVP and setter Curtis Reitmeir joined him on the all-tournament team.
