Sacred Heart Prep tennis, golf bring home victories

The SHP Girls Tennis team defeated Hillsdale 7-0, while the Girls Golf team beat Notre Dame - Belmont 249-285. 

Sara Quinlan set the tone for Sacred Heart Prep's 7-0 nonleague girls tennis victory over visiting Hillsdale on Monday with a swift 6-0, 6-0 victory at the top of the singles ladder.

Alexa Schlotter recovered from a first set loss to win at No. 3 singles, 2-6, 6-1, 10-7. Ella Sheehan and Bridgette Molumphy also won their singles matches for the Gators (10-6), who host Harker at 4 p.m. Thursday in a WBAL match.
 
The Sacred Heart Prep lineup has undergone a transformation over the course of the season. Skylar Schuman, who teamed with with Natalie Dias at No. 1 doubles to earn a 6-2, 6-2 victory Monday, is the only SHP player who remains in the same spot of the lineup in which she opened the season.
 
Dias opened the season in the singles ladder while Schuman played with Sheehan at No. 1 doubles.

Quinlan opened the season at No. 3 singles and has see action up and down the lineup. Schlotter and Molumphy started in doubles.

Christy Thompson, who plays with Ciara Moses at No. 2 doubles and the No. 3 doubles team of Annie Texido and Keely Meyercord have filled in nicely.

 
Girls golf 
Alexandra Hull and Hannah Lesti led Sacred Heart Prep to a 249-285 victory in the West Bay Athletic League regular-season finale at Shoreline Golf Links on Monday.

Hull shot a 45 to earn medalist honors while Lesti followed with a 48. Hannah Lindquist was next with a 49. Felicia Wei led the Tigers with a 46.

The WBAL tournament is scheduled for a 10:55 a.m. start Wednesday at Baylands Golf Links.
