Prep report: SH Prep boys stay unbeaten in lacrosse

The Varsity Boys lacrosse team, who came into today as the #4 ranked team in California, defeated 7th-ranked Redwood 10-5. 

Boys & Girls Lacrosse

Cody Wiebe recorded five saves, helping Sacred Heart Prep beat host Redwood 10-5 in a nonleague boys lacrosse contest Saturday.

Senior Ingrid Corrigan and sophomore Genna Gibbons each scored four goals but host Sacred Heart Prep suffered an 11-10 setback to Novato in a nonleague girls' lacrosse contest on Saturday.

In Larkspur, the Gators (5-0) broke open a close game with five goals in the second half while Wiebe and the SHP defense kept Redwood out of the net.

Tommy Barnds scored four goals to lead the Gators, who host Bellarmine in a West Catholic Athletic League contest at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Ben Ramsey had a goal and three assists while Billy Barnds had two goals and an assist. Larry Hart scored twice, Joe Sonsini added a goal and Joey Dahlkemper added an assist.

In Atherton, freshmen Ellie Noto and Ava Shenk also scored for the Gators (3-2), who play at Menlo on Tuesday, March 26 in a 5:30 p.m. West Bay Athletic League match.

Senior Emma Briger stopped five stops for SH Prep, which lost its second one-goal game of the season to a team outside the Central Coast Section. Novato and Redwood are a combined 11-0 on the year.

Boys volleyball 
Sacred Heart Prep finished second at the Del Mar Invitational on Saturday with a 3-1 record.

The Gators beat Del Mar 2-0 (25-16, 25-22), Oak Grove 2-0 (25-20, 25-20), and Gunn 2-0 (27-25, 26-24) before falling to Leigh in the finals 0-2 (21-25, 13-25).
