Sacred Heart Prep junior scored 26 points in the CCS Division IV title game

With 56.1% of the vote, Sacred Heart Prep basketball’s Aidan Braccia is the Bay Area News Group boys athlete of the week for June 7-13 — the final poll of the spring season.

Braccia, a 6-foot-1 junior with four college scholarship offers, scored a game-high 26 points to lead Sacred Heart Prep over The King’s Academy for the CCS Division IV title, the school’s first since 2014.

In second place, Palo Alto’s Ritter Amsbaugh received 21.9% of the vote after pitching a shutout and slugging a grand slam in the CCS Division I quarterfinals.

Mountain View’s Gabe Barrett earned 15.2% after he went all nine innings and struck out 12 in a CCS quarterfinal win over Pioneer.

Congratulations to Braccia and all the others who were in the running.
