National Philanthropy Day

St. Madeleine Sophie Barat

"Your example, even more than your words, will be an eloquent lesson to the world."

Since its beginnings on the San Francisco Peninsula more than 100 years ago, Sacred Heart has been a school founded and fueled on the charitable work and philanthropic investment of its families, neighbors, alumni, RSCJ, and students.

November 15, is National Philanthropy Day, and we are asking all Sacred Heart alumni and past parents to participate in some way by volunteering in your local communities and sharing the blessing of your time, talent, or treasure.

Wherever you are across the country and around the globe, we invite you to join in as we honor our school and its historic tradition of support from—and for—our Sacred Heart family!

It all began with an act of charity...

    • In 1897, the Faxon Dean Atherton family offers land to the RSCJ to start a school. More than a century later, our beautiful 64-acre campus is the result of continued philanthropy toward, service to, and investment in a Sacred Heart education.

Rob La Rue (SHP '07), Co-chair, Alumni Mentorship Program

"Giving back through the mentor program is meaningful to me because it helps to strengthen the alumni community, reminding us that we are still part of the Sacred Heart family long after we graduate."
