SHP Girls Earn WBAL Golf Victory; League Tourney on Tap

All five of Sacred Heart Prep's golfers finished within five strokes of each other Monday and the Gators completed the regular-season with a 224-263 victory over Notre Dame-Belmont at Menlo County Club in a West Bay Athletic League girls' golf match.

The WBAL holds its league finals Wednesday at Popular Creek Golf Club in San Mateo beginning at noon. Menlo, Castilleja, and Harker are looking to repeat as CCS tournament participants while the Gators look to unseat one of the top three teams.

The WBAL tournament will also determine individual placing for golfers not on a team advancing.

Lauren von Thaden, Sinead Haley, and Emi Hartman each shot a round of 44 under overcast skies. Maia Granoski came in a stroke behind at 45, followed by Cami Steppe at 47 and Caroline Park at 49.

Tigers' Sara Eckles earned medalist honors with a round of 42.
