During Sacred Heart's annual Christmas boutique, Sacred Heart Society members aided the Uganda Chairs in selling donations and copies of Mrs. Solari's book to raise money for our sister school in Uganda. A fellow Sister spoke to us at one of our weekly meetings to help us realize the magnitude of our involvement with the Uganda school. Consequently, we were invigorated to help in whatever way we could. We took turns selling donation-based products in the hallway outside of the Christmas Boutique, and our efforts paid off. We raised a sizeable amount of money for our sister school!

The Sacred Heart Society Induction Mass was a beautiful ceremony that officially swore us into the Sacred Heart Society. Afterwards, we had the opportunity to meet our sisters for the very first time, which, as you can imagine, was an exciting experience for us all. Some students were paired two-to-a-sister, while others had a one-to-one partnership. The overwhelming response from the students was one pleasant surprise, for the sisters were almost more energetic than we were! The Induction Mass prepared us for a promising semester with our sisters.

The Christmas Gathering was a wonderful opportunity for us to reconnect with our sisters for a fun holiday affair. Many of us had become so overwhelmed by school and college applications, amongst other things, that the gathering was a chance for us to reconnect for the first time in weeks. We brought our sisters gifts and goûter over a lunch meeting in a nice Oakwood facility. Holiday cheer was had by all!

On September 11, 2011, thirty members of the senior class, their parents, Sacred Heart faculty, and retired Religious of the Sacred Heart nuns assembled for mass in the Oakwood chapel for the induction of the 2011-2012 Sacred Heart Society members. The mass included readings by students, singing by nuns, a psychology filled homily by the priest, and prayers for all the victims of the terrorist attacks, which took place a decade before.
Following mass, the newly inducted Sacred Heart Society members began to build their relationship with their assigned nun by sharing Chuck’s Donuts and juice. Laughter and introductions filled the courtyard behind the chapel, where the reception was held.
Since Sunday, Sacred Heart Society members have enjoyed even more time with their nuns and have provided assistance at a number of school events.
