Lower and Middle Schools Grades 1-8
The academic program for the Lower and Middle Schools (grades 1-8) of Sacred Heart Schools is committed to the development of the whole person. Grounded in the Goals and Criteria of the Network of Sacred Heart Schools, our academic program fosters a life-long love for learning as it challenges each of our students to discover personal and academic strengths to guide them in exploring and mastering new ideas while encouraging them to maximize their potential across the curriculum in a caring and nurturing environment. This division of the SHS community seeks to create an academic atmosphere of support, inclusion and collaboration in which every student can thrive, grow, and excel.
Small classes allow for individualized and differentiated instruction at every level by outstanding, dedicated teachers.
Small class sizes, student-centered teaching and learning activities and a broad and in-depth curriculum by subject ensure that all students are engaged every day. Our 1:1 tablet program beginning at grade 6 is a continuation of our commitment to integrate technology throughout the curriculum on a daily basis. Teachers employ a wide variety of assessment methods, including objective and free response tests, compositions, laboratory work and reports, problem- and project-based learning, research papers, oral presentations, group projects, and performances.
