For over one hundred years Sacred Heart Schools, Atherton (SHS) has been dedicated to educating the whole child.  SHS provides an education that fosters personal and active faith in God, deep respect for intellectual values, social awareness that impels to action, the building of a community as a Christian value, and personal growth in an atmosphere of wise freedom.

Sacred Heart is committed to the teachings of the Catholic Church while being an open community enriched by faculty, staff and a student body of diverse backgrounds who all strive for a culture rich in heritage and progressive in all areas of academics.

Sacred Heart Schools, Atherton is accredited by the Western Catholic Educational Association (WCEA). WCEA accredits Catholic elementary and secondary schools in nine western states (26 (arch) dioceses) and the US Territory of Guam. WCEA co-accredits and is in partnership with three Regional agencies (WASC, NAAS, NCA) and two private agencies (CAIS and HAIS).   WCEA began in 1957 in San Francisco and has a long and successful history of assisting school improvement through the accreditation process.
