Support and Donations
As many of you heard on Wednesday's news, there was a plane crash in East Palo Alto. Tragically the three passengers on the small Cessna lost their lives. Thankfully, no one on the ground was physically hurt. Unfortunately, however, this tragedy has touched a few members of our Sacred Heart Community. The small plane crashed into Lisa Jones’ home who is the mother of our 6th grader, Diaja Smith. Lisa has been a member of our SHS family for more than 16 years, her two older children Demetra and Janisa attended St. Joseph’s and graduated from the Prep. In addition, Pamela Houston, current mother of D’Anthony (KG,) Darian (1st grade) and David (2nd grade), was employed by Lisa’s daycare that was also lost in Wednesday’s accident and is now unemployed. This, as you can imagine, has been an unimaginable event for these two families and they need our support.
We have met with the families and are doing all that we can to support them in this difficult time. The focus right now is to get Lisa and her family settled into a new home, and to rebuild the daycare & her business so that her employees, like Pam, can continue to have an income. If you would like to lend your support to Lisa, either with words of kindness, offers of support or donations, please click below to make a donation, or to send Lisa an email. Cash donations may be made online through Paypal directly to the family, or by dropping gift cards off to Mrs. Vanoli at the Lower School administrative office.
Thank you, in advance, for your kindness in this difficult time.
